When the Interviewer becomes the Interviewee

When the Interviewer becomes the Interviewee

Rusty Fleming
First and foremost, let's us all take a moment to celebrate the real reason for this great holiday that is all but upon us. And beyond that let's all make sure our plans are for a safe and happy fun-filled weekend with some glorious memories we can cherish forever. And for me, one of those memories will be a weekend where the old publisher became the "interviewee" in one of John Erling's productions of his "Voices of Oklahoma".

Sometime the middle of last year the old pro of Tulsa radio fame contacted me about being the subject of one of his interviews. I resisted at first, but no doubt I was flattered. A few weeks later, we met for the interview at the executive conference room in the GRDA Eco Building.

Since I had been friends with John for many years, a conversation with him about topics from lake issues to my time in Vietnam didn't seem all that unusual.....not to mention the dude is really good at what he does as he pulled some things out that had been locked up for a period of years.

At the conclusion of the interview, he informed me it would be after the first of the year before it hit the digital scene. Little did I know it would hit my inbox the week leading up to the first major holiday of the year. Shortly after that it was up on John's Voices of Oklahoma  web site, his podcast and some form of YouTube I haven't seen as of yet. The next thing dead ahead was to give it a listen and it definitely brought back a lot of memories entrenched in this grand old lake.

If our friends and colleagues would like to take it all in, I must warn you it's long, but the link to the voices of  Oklahoma is as follows:

Enjoy and remember it took a lot of "See Ya' Around the Ponds" to fill up this interview......Thanks John Erling and thanks Grand Lake!!
